About
Hello, and welcome to our classroom website. My name is Ms. Lyndsey Watanabe. I am so thrilled to be your teacher. It is going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures. I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us! I can't wait to meet you and learn all about you, but right now, I am going to tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised on the island of Oahu. After I finished high school, I moved to Forest Grove, Oregon to play soccer and get my degree from Pacific University (Go Boxers!). I did my student teaching in a first and third grade classroom at a small school in Forest Grove called Fern Hill Elementary. That was when I first fell in love with teaching younger grades. In 2016, I graduated with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and my Oregon Teaching License. I taught for two years at Pioneer School in Lebanon, Oregon as a first grade teacher. As that chapter in my life closed, I decided to moved here to Colorado this summer. When I am not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend and our newly adopted puppy, playing soccer, going hiking, crafting, cooking and binge watching TV shows on Netflix. As you can tell I also love cactus and succulents which is our classroom theme this year. In this classroom we hope to grow minds and cultivate kindness! Well, that pretty much sums me up! Now, lets get this year started. I have a feeling it's going to be another great one!
